Gut health – quick tips and info

Google says that people are searching for “Gut health” and “restore gut health” in increasing numbers.

So, what is gut health and how can we get it ?

Gut Health

Your gut is the beginning of your immune system, it is home to countless bacteria, both good and bad. These bacteria are tasked with maintaining the perfect balance of good and bad bacteria – the foundation for good basic health.

It is said that nearly every disease originates in your digestive system. We mean both physical and mental disease. Once you heal and fix your gut lining, and make your digestive system work properly again, disease symptoms may be eradicated.

If you follow the basic rules designed to restore the integrity of your gut lining by providing your body with the necessary pieces needed for bringing healthy balance to your gut flora, you’ll have the right foundation to experience great health, and even amazing health.

Optimal gut flora ( aka Gut Health) , and ‘rebuilding’ your gut with fermented foodsand probiotics  (especially if you have taken an antibiotic) is the key.

Dr. Natasha Campbell-McBridee, an amazing UK Physician, says poor diet in general, combined with use of antibiotics wreaks havoc on gut health.

Gut health Dr. Natasha

She has a full-time medical practice in the United Kingdom where she treats children and adults with autism, learning disabilities, neurological disorders, psychiatric disorders, immune disorders, and digestive problems. Dr. Campbell describes the entire process in her book.

“Every course of antibiotics tends to wipe out the beneficial bacteria and that gives a window of opportunity for the pathogens to proliferate, to grow uncontrolled, and to occupy new niches in your gut. The beneficial flora recovers, but different species of it take between two weeks to two months to recover in the gut and that’s a window of opportunity for various pathogens to overgrow.

Importance of Fermented Foods and Probiotics

Her gut health protocol consists of three elements:

Food easily digestible foods that are nutrition-rich, including fermented foods.
(We love Sauerkraut, Kimchi, Kefir, Kombucha, pickles)

Food supplements, including: Probiotics and vitamins D and A (cod liver oil ) and…give yourself healthy sun exposure

Detox — A good nutritional protocol will naturally clear out most toxins.

Recommendations

Dr. Campbell prefers not use any kind of drugs or chemicals to remove toxins as it can  produce damaging side effects. Instead she recommends :
Juicing , baths with Epsom salt, sea salt, seaweed powder, apple cider vinegar, and baking soda.

At Nutricelebrity we always strive to find the best options and supplements to maintain and restore our health.
