Low Libido - Some natural ways to fix

Low Libido - Some natural ways to fix

Low Libido

Sex drive (libido) varies greatly among men and may be decreased temporarily by conditions such as fatigue or anxiety. Libido also tends to gradually decrease as a man ages. Persistently low libido may cause distress to a couple.

Most often, however, low libido develops after years of normal sexual desire. Some drugs (such as those used to treat depression, anxiety, or advanced prostate cancer) can decrease blood levels of testosterone and also lower libido.

Men need understand the role of many factors on physical function.
The physical or psychological factors, illness, pain, fatigue or post surgery issues need to be carefully considered. Also note that antidepressants, blood pressure medication, and high alcohol or marijuana can lower desire.

Having a low libido for long periods of time may reveal an underlying health condition that is physical or psychological.

If the testosterone level is low, supplemental testosterone is often given, in the form of a patch ( sometimes gel) applied to the skin or intravenously. Such treatments are thought to slightly increase the risk of heart attack or stroke, this is why supplemental testosterone is not recommended unless the blood level of testosterone is low. Testosterone treatment will not help to fix lower libido in men with normal testosterone levels.

We must approach this holistically - consider the body as a whole. We need to be taking in nutrients that support hormone production, blood flow, stress levels and brain health, which will almost certainly affect your state.

maca root and tribulus

Some natural sources

Tribulus or Tribulus terrestris is a plant. Many cultures use the fruit, root or even the leaves as medicinal. It is also known as “hard thorns,” “puncture vine,”  ( it's kind of spiky looking), it's even called "horny goat weed".
It contains great amounts of saponins, flavonoids (including quercetin and kaempferol), glycosides, phytosterols, and terpenoids. In a small study, some correlation was shown between sexual function and Tribulus.

Maca, (often called Peruvian ginseng) is a root vegetable often found near Peru.
A well-known benefit of maca root is its potential to increase libido (also it is said to increase fertility, particularly in men). Maca may help low libido, according to some studies. It's natural and and, we love natural supplements.
